Russian FM accuses Europe of not creating basis for negotiations with Russia

A dialogue between Russia and Western European countries can happen if they are ready to conduct it while maintaining a balance of interests, but now, there is no basis for this, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with the ATV TV channel of the Republic of Serbia, which is part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the minister, the dialogue can be successful if the Western European countries realize the futility of the colonial policy of subjugating everyone and everything, meddling in the affairs of other regions, be it the South Caucasus or Central Asia."

"When they are ready to build their cooperation not on the balance of power, but on the balance of legitimate interests, a promising conversation can take place," Lavrov stressed.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Minister claimed that the West was trying to distance Armenia from Russia.
