US confident large-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah can be averted

The US does not consider large-scale hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah to be inevitable, despite the sharp deterioration of the situation on the Lebanese border, according to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
"We do not believe that a large-scale war is inevitable, and yet we believe that it can be avoided,” Jean-Pierre stated.
On July 27, a rocket attack on the town of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights resulted in the deaths of 12 children. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel retaliate.
