Russia carried out a series of ballistic missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian cities on Sunday evening, hitting civilian infrastructure in Sumy, Kharkiv, and Pavlohrad, Ukrainian officials said. Several people were injured, including a child.

In Sumy, the first explosion was reported around 10:40 p.m. local time. Regional governor Oleh Hryhorov said Russian forces likely struck civilian infrastructure with a ballistic missile. "According to preliminary data, there were no casualties, but infrastructure was damaged. The consequences are being clarified," he said.

At approximately 10:50 p.m., Kharkiv was hit. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said a residential apartment block was struck by a ballistic missile. "Preliminarily, there are injuries," he said.

Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov later confirmed that a 13-year-old girl, a 21-year-old woman, and a 60-year-old woman were wounded.

Earlier, Ukraine’s emergency service (SES) reported that a missile struck the ground near a residential district in Kharkiv’s Industrial area, shattering windows and forcing the evacuation of residents. Emergency psychologists were dispatched to assist victims on site.

Explosions were also reported in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Telegram channels said more than a dozen Shahed drones were attacking Odesa region, where explosions were heard.
