U.S. Senate blocks resolution to limit military action against Cuba

The U.S. Senate blocked a Democratic resolution that would have barred President Donald Trump from launching military action against Cuba without congressional approval.
The measure failed after senators voted 51-47 against advancing it.
Republicans said the resolution was unnecessary because the United States was not engaged in active hostilities against Cuba, while Democrats argued that any military action should require congressional oversight.
