Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been awarded the prestigious Hessian Peace Prize in recognition of his efforts toward securing peace in the South Caucasus and normalizing relations with Azerbaijan, the Armenian Embassy in Germany announced.

The prize, which carries a monetary award of €25,000, recognizes Pashinyan's democratic reform agenda, efforts to deepen ties with the European Union, and his role in the bilateral peace negotiations with Baku. The official award ceremony will take place on September 18 at the State Parliament of Hesse in Wiesbaden.

Established in 1994 by the Albert Oswald Foundation, the Hessian Peace Prize honors individuals who make outstanding contributions to conflict prevention and international understanding.
