Burger King uses Tittygram to advertise its Whoppers on Russian social media

Burger King uses Tittygram to advertise its Whoppers on Russian social media

Burger King is using women’s breasts to advertise on its official Vk.com page (Russia’s Facebook equivalent).

The burger chain’s ‘interesting’ method of PR involves new Russian website Tittygram, dubbed ‘Uber for boobs,’ (as prices drop when demand is high).

Here’s how it works: the customer pays around £6.65 and then a model wearing a bra or bikini top will write any message (that’s 35 characters or less) on her chest.

Within an hour of placing their order, the customer will receive a photo of their personalised message via email.

And it seems the people behind Burger King’s social media account couldn’t resist.

They posted this picture with ‘I love Burger King!’ written across a girl’s breasts.

The caption that accompanied the picture read: Do you want this to be your name? Every week the most active community member will receive this type of named message. It’s not just your Whoppers that are cooked on a real fire, everything with us is on fire!’

Many customers were understandably unimpressed. User Anastacia Zarechenskya wrote: ‘Does Burger King need customers so badly that they will stoop to such vulgarity?’

Katay Tarelinka added: ‘If your product was any good you wouldn’t need sexism to sell it.’

And while it’s sadly not unusual for women’s breasts to be used in advertising to sell products, Tittygram has also been widely criticised for its blatant objectification of women.

He says he doesn’t allow offensive messages, models must be over 21, and 2 per cent of profits go towards breast cancer research.

Metro.co.uk has approached Burger King for a comment.
