Got a bee on your bonnet?

A husband and wife were literally left with a bee in their bonnet after returning from a shopping trip to find a swarm of up to 20,000 of the insects on their car.
Barbara and Simon Servante came out of The Mall Maidstone in Kent to find the insects had landed on their parked cream Mini - and local beekeepers had to be called out to remove the insects.
The couple, from the Isle of Sheppey, said they thought someone was pulling a candid camera trick on them - and are now too frightened to open the bonnet to check for damage.
Mrs Servante told Kent Online: ‘My husband said someone had put something on my car. I then saw the beekeepers around it. I thought someone was doing a You’ve Been Framed trick on me.
‘I was told there were about 20,000 bees and around 5,000 were left on the car or dead. I still think there’s some in the engine. I’m frightened to lift the bonnet to check for damage.
Swarms, which usually contain one queen and up to 20,000 bees, normally occur when a colony has become overcrowded - forcing them to find a new home.
Mr and Mrs Servante were also left with bee excrement on their vehicle, but the insects were fortunately docile because they will only attack when provoked.
Two images of the car were posted to the Facebook page Spotted in Maidstone.
Tim Thake, who commented on one of the photographs, said: ‘Share the secret... That's one way to keep the parking wardens away.’
And Rebecca Louise, who lives in nearby Gillingham, said: 'I swear this would be my worst nightmare - sod the car, I'll get the bus.'
