Islamic State offer sex slave to the winner of a 'memorise the Koran' competition

Three winners get a "sibya" – a female captured in battle. Fourth and fifth prizes are cash.

The seven-day competition to mark Ramadan is being held in mosques across Isis-controlled territory in Syria, including one named after al-Qaida terror warlord Osama bin Laden.

Isis has challenged its followers to memorise "some of the most warlike passages in the entire Koran".

A spokesman for the Clarion Project, which tracks terror-linked social media accounts, said Koran-memorising contests were held around the world but not with such shocking prizes.

Human rights groups have warned of the horrific treatment meted out to girls and women captured by Isis.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that 300 Yazidi girls seized in Iraq were forced to convert to Islam and then sold to jihadists for £636.

Girls and women were being traded for as little as a pack of cigarettes.
